HEAP was founded to foster the importance of continuing education and lifelong learning for adults. Whether adults are returning to formal education, or businesses are wanting to make sure that their employees get proper training, HEAP is here to help learners learn.

HEAP's founder originally just wanted to make sure all adult learners had what they need to be successful in a college mathematics course. Then she branched out to wanting to help adults understand whatever they "didn't know, that they didn't know" so that they could make their investment in education successful.

Finally, she realized that there is a wealth of information available but not necessarily being presented in meaningful, memorable, or motivational ways.

HEAP wants people to succeed in reaching their goals. Whether it is to get a degree, advance their job skills, or provide quality training to their employees.

Founder - Kate Okrongly

Experience

Kate has over two decades of experience in accounting for private business. She has taught mathematics for over a decade at a local community college and for a technical school. She holds a master's of educational leadership degree from Northern Arizona University and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Ottawa University.

Background

Kate is originally from Connecticut and moved to Arizona in 1992. She published a work of fiction entitled Scrubbed under the pseudonym Kate James. She loves to travel, especially when it gives her the opportunity to learn more about other people and cultures. Her family and friends are very important to her. She also truly enjoys helping others achieve their goals.
